Training & Background Screening

Our staff, contracted home providers, consumers and family members are provided with opportunities to attend training in a variety of subjects pertaining to the developmental and wellness fields. We have conducted a sponsored training in the following areas: Autism Disorders, Seizure Disorders, Respectful Approaches, Behavioral Interventions, Confidentiality, CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens & Universal Precautions, General Medication Administration and Safety Mechanics. UVS-sponsored training is open to the public and registration is arranged by calling Kelley Wright at:

Background screening for UVS staff and contracted home providers is conducted through the following agencies: the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Vermont Criminal Records Information Center, the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Aging and Independent Living. Ongoing employment or contractual supports with the consumers for whom we are responsible are contingent upon the results of these record checks.
